Key points05

  • Gross Booking Value hit a record $437 million in Q3 2026, up 30% year on year and above guidance of $390–397 million.
  • Transactions reached approximately 494,000, up 15% year on year, beating the forecast of 481,000–490,000.
  • Active carriers rose to 79, from 75 in Q2; unique buyer users reached about 21,900, up from 21,100.
  • CEO Pablo Pinillos said volumes and GBV exceeded expectations, citing continued platform momentum.
  • Full third-quarter financial results are due on November 23, 2026; the preliminary figures may change.

Freightos booked a record $437 million in gross booking value in the third quarter of 2026, up 30% year on year and comfortably above its own guidance of $390–397 million. Transaction volumes hit roughly 494,000, a 15% increase that also beat the company's forecast range of 481,000 to 490,000.

In plain terms, that's about 5,400 bookings a day moving through the platform, versus roughly 4,700 a day a year earlier. Both headline metrics exceeded management expectations, according to preliminary figures the company released ahead of its full financial report.

"Our third-quarter performance reflects continued momentum across the Freightos Platform, with transaction volumes and GBV exceeding our expectations," said Pablo Pinillos, CEO of Freightos.

What's driving the growth?

The company credits most of the transaction increase to customers using its software solutions — the tools that connect freight forwarders, carriers and shippers through its digital booking network. That matters commercially: software is where Freightos makes most of its revenue, and the company notes the preliminary platform figures don't fully capture that side of the business.

Network breadth is also inching up. Active carriers rose to 79, from 75 in the second quarter and 77 a year earlier. Unique buyer users reached approximately 21,900, up from 21,100 in the previous quarter.

Freightos also acknowledged an uncomfortable tailwind: higher freight rates. Tight capacity and rising fuel costs pushed rates up during the quarter, inflating the value of bookings flowing through the platform. Some of that GBV record, in other words, the market handed over rather than the company earning through volume alone.

What does this change for shippers and forwarders?

For shippers, the numbers double as a market signal. A platform seeing rates firm enough to lift booking value 30% while volumes grow 15% is telling you the price gap between the two — a rough proxy for rate inflation — ran at double-digit percentage points during the quarter. Capacity was tight; fuel costs were rising. Budget accordingly.

For forwarders and carriers, the takeaway is that digital booking penetration keeps deepening. Nearly 22,000 unique buyers transacting with 79 carriers suggests the channel is no longer an experiment. Competitors in the digital freight space will face a benchmark set well above prior expectations.

For Freightos itself, the beat matters because expectations were already calibrated. Management guided to 481,000–490,000 transactions and $390–397 million GBV; the business cleared both ceilings. That's the kind of overshoot that tends to reset analyst models.

Preliminary numbers, full picture in November

One caveat worth keeping in view: the figures are preliminary and may change. Freightos will publish complete third-quarter financial results on November 23, 2026, along with further detail on the software business and overall financial performance.

Freightos provides digital booking, freight pricing and market intelligence services for international cargo transport. The company says its software solutions account for most of its revenue — meaning the November report, not Wednesday's platform data, will show whether the transaction momentum translated into earnings.

Until then, the trajectory is clear: more carriers, more buyers, more bookings, and a rate environment doing its bit to fatten the numbers. Whether the momentum holds depends largely on whether capacity stays tight through the fourth quarter.
